HAVIVOKALTAWI
("LIFE SONGS")
This 21-track compilation of our band, Rainbow Eagle &
Howling Coyote, takes the inspiration for its title from the
track of that name, which means "Songs of Life"
in the native language of the traditional Hopi Indians of
Arizona, USA, (to whom I owe a great spiritual debt in my
own Vision Quest).
This 'variety performance' of songs & poems, in styles
that range from those of traditional Irish folk-music, electronic
improvisation, lyrical Elizabethan, blues, rock & reggae
guitar through to Afro- & Amerindian drumming and chanting,
is divided into two sections or themes.
The first, Visions of Past, Present & Future covers
green & ecological issues, with a sense of foreboding
that we might render ourselves and other life on the planet
ultimately extinct if we carry on as we are doing now, especially
in the "Chernobyl-like", "Tarkovsky-film"
mood poem, "Zones".
The second section consists of a Spiritual life/ Great Spirit
affirming resurgence of hope of a New Age of Harmony to come
in this New Millennium.
To illustrate this, by way of a taster, the track titles run
as follows:
1. Elegy of Plastic Puke
2. Concrete Uber Alles
3. Green Land
4. Recipe To Make a System Man
5. Babylon Zion
6. Privatised
7. Lament for the Trees
8. Zones
Track is in MP3 format and approximately
3.5mb
9. Ron McDonald Had a Farm
10. Havivokaltawi
11. Rainbow Bird Dance
12. Rambling Man Blues
13. Pale Blue Shell of the Sky
14. It Blows as Cool as the Wind on the Crag
15. Dumba
16. Gypsy Woman
17. Raindance - Sunflame Dance
18. Automatic Control
19. Get
Me Back Into the Earth
(Track
is in MP3 format and approximately 3.5mb
20. Dance of Freedom
21. Hopi Prayer For Peace
The final track is an adaptation of the 1987 message to the
world of the traditional Hopi Indian Elders of Hotevilla,
as also their ancient prophecy for our contemporary future,
which prompted us to set out again on the Vision Quest that
led to the development of the our current Universal Alliance,
also prompted, in 1986, by the Chernobyl Nuclear Catastrophe.
My own blood- & soul- brotherhood links with the traditional
Navajo & Hopi Amerindians go back as far as 1968 &
1981 (Rainbow Eagle)
